Willy Chertman

Biosecurity Fellow, Congressional Track (2023-2024)

Willy Chertman is doing a congressional fellowship with the office of Senator Todd Young (R-IN).

Previously, Willy was a resident physician in internal medicine at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort. Lauderdale, Florida, as well as an adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute, where he wrote about biosecurity and medical innovation. Prior to that, he was Head of Content at Orchid, a genetics startup, worked part-time as an independent research consultant on fertility science, and wrote policy essays with the Institute for Progress and the Center for the Study of Partisanship and Ideology. Willy holds an MD from the University of Miami Miller School of  Medicine, as well as a MS in Genomics Medicine, and a BS in Biology and Political Science from the University of Miami.
